How are you today?
I bet you’re tired. Doesn’t it seem like you’re tired so much lately, and your to-do list grows faster than you can complete the tasks on it?
Wouldn’t you like to get out of this crazy busy-ness that eats up all your time, money and creative energy?
Don’t you want to spend time doing what you love, with the people you love, giving back and moving forward instead of spinning in circles?
I’m hoping I can help you with that. I’m hoping I can help you give yourself permission to slow down and enjoy this life instead of rushing through it.
Everywhere I look these days, I see people rushing from meetings to appointments to practices to any other scheduled use of their time. It seems like people are always on the move, talking about how busy they are, but never taking time to be still, to look at exactly what they’re busy doing and determine if what they’re doing is important or worthwhile.
Perhaps they’re afraid that if they do slow down and examine their movements closely, they’ll find that they’re not doing the important work that they’re meant to be doing. That amidst all this busy-ness and constant movement and rushing and work, work, working, they’re really just wasting time.
It makes me sad, and more so because I’m one of these people. I think you’re one of these people too, and I want us both – I want us all – to stop.
We just need to be still for a moment.
We need to stop rewarding people for spending all their time glued to their work phones, even on evenings, weekends and vacations, at the expense of those around them.
We need to change our mindset, to draw on the wisdom of those who have gone before us and of those who have embraced a simpler life now, and we need to use that changed mindset to result in a changed lifestyle.
This is important for all of us, not just you and me right now, but for everyone around the world.
It is. If we are to leave a healthy planet to healthy, well-adjusted children, we need to change our ways, and we need to do it now.
Let’s you and me start now. Let’s resolve to slow down, to use our time, money and energy to make this life and this world a more beautiful place, to focus on what’s really important and to care for ourselves and our loved ones in the best way we can.
I’ll be back at ya, with stories and tips and suggestions and questions and encouragement and support. I hope you’ll show up, too.
Tell me, what are some changes you’d like to make to live the life you want?
